October 15th is National White Cane Awareness Day. This year there will be several events in New Hampshire that will feature interactive activities that demonstrate use of the white cane and dog guide for independent and safe travel. Demonstrations of emerging technologies that will soon be supplementing the original symbols of blindness will also be on hand for discussion.
